NUA x DESIGN Collective Pop-Up Shop

NUA x DESIGN has launched an online pop-up shop selling original art, prints, and home decor in line with the #artistsupportpledge movement, which was created by Matthew Burrows and has taken the world by storm. The Artist Support Pledge initiative was created to help maintain and support livelihoods within the arts community during the current pandemic. The pledge invites artists and makers to post and sell their work for £200 or less (+shipping). Each artist who participates pledges to purchase £200 worth of art once sales of £1,000 are achieved. By doing so, artists are paying generosity forward and are supporting each other to keep the art economies alive. NUA x DESIGN thought this community initiative was brilliant and wanted to get involved. Understanding that some artists may not be able to achieve £1,000 in sales on their own, NUA x DESIGN was keen to find a way to help emerging artists, designers and makers take part in the initiative. Thus, the COLLECTIVE POP-UP concept quickly emerged and NUA x DESIGN began building a collective group to come together to support the pledge. Launching with 9 artists, the COLLECTIVE POP-UP aims to support UK-based artists and pledges that once £1,000 of revenue is generated, 20% of ALL revenue will be contributed towards purchasing artworks from artists outside of the COLLECTIVE. This is a non-profit event for NUA x DESIGN and purely supports the livelihoods of the talented creatives that continue to bring colour, energy and ambiance to our lives, even during the toughest of times. Pieces of art purchased as part of NUA x DESIGN's pledge of generosity will be raffled off to healthcare and essential workers. Therefore, art purchased through the NUA x DESIGN COLLECTIVE POP-UP will not only support artists livelihoods, but will bring joy to the people working tirelessly to support and protect the general public right now.
