Organic Flora Hand Printed Silk Scarves

  • Jack Hebden

Using locally scavenged organic flora, I created a variety of natural pigments to paint the fabric with by drying each individual petal in a dehydrator and making a fine powder by hand grinding the dried petals in a pestle and mortar. Along with this using a range of these dried flora to sprinkle along the cloth to create a randomised organic looking textured piece of fabric before cutting the fabric into a scarf and using a hand rolled hem finishing with an organic cotton thread.
