Past In Front
This is an installation that sums up my artistic work of the last two years. It is a work that talks about memory, specific moments and how they can affect the image of the present. We tend to hide the past, but it continues being part of the identity of things ...

"Past in front" was created with the desire to turn and look back to what's in the past because the past has a major role to the creation of the image of things.
Expose the invisible and bring it to the present is the aim of this work. A work that connects the concept of memory with my own past, experiences both mine and my ancestors’ that are important for me and have been factors in the creation of my identity.
In this work concepts such as past and present, reality and non-reality, presence with absence, the known and the unknown are merged. Also concepts such as intimacy and distrust or the inside and the outside, talk to each other. It is a personal project explaining a memory that goes far beyond childhood. It's like a tunnel where once you enter and you are going through it, they start appearing one after another, the items were left in the dark.

As material, I use layers once again which in this case are nightgowns. The three nightgowns of the first night of the weddings of my great grandmother, my grandmother and my mother appear one after the other representing the past. As a last layer is the projection of my body representing the present .

Special thanks to my supervisor and teacher Xavier Arenós.
