Ping Pong Connect

A little downtime and a brand new agency ping pong table inspired Ping Pong Connect, a connected app that would tell players whether or not the heavily occupied table was free for a relaxing game of ping pong, and track the scores of those who were lucky enough to play.

Creative technologist Bogdan Ferrari equipped the table with motion sensors and a magnetic switch to keep and save the players’ score. The app pulls the sensors’ data to give users real-time updates on whether or not the table is free.

Designer Joao Tavares created a simple yet bold design for the app, combining just three colors with playful fonts of different sizes. My task as the copywriter was to appeal to the player's competitive spirit with provoking and playful language and the occasional inside jokes from the office.
