While experimenting with exhibition formats at Studio 73 in order to increase audience engagement, I collaborated with visual and performance artist Reggy Liu on a one-off weekend show part of the #73Lates series. The result is "Being Present with Time", an exhibition about self-awareness, personal growth and an invite to be present in order to get the past behind and face the future with no fear. The show opened with "Meet Future You and Future Self: Generating Energy", an interactive experimental performance where audience was invited to ask the artist for courage or optimism in relation to what they felt it was needed for their growth. A series of screen prints named "African Inspiration" was showcased all over the weekend: inspired by the African practice of mask layering, this series aimed to give visual momentum to the process of building self-awareness throughout personal experiences.
