Riding Over The Cursed Ground

There has been written and spoken a lot about the recent shows of Magliano held at Pitti Uomo in January 2024 and the Maison Margiela Artisanal collection by John Galliano. Although the two collections were very different, in my mind they conveyed a single truth that resonated with me on an instinctual level: solitude, sinfulness, vulnerability, and a sense of superior confidence about it all. Both collections conveyed a message of being outcasts, yet exhibiting boldness and admirable fearlessness. This irresistible quintessence inspired me to create my interpretation of these themes with a revised myth: Lone Adam riding his Serpent over the Cursed Ground. This work is a personal project and was originally born out of a styling I put together for an e-commerce photoshoot last year. In between changing the looks, Jose from Tank Agency was 3d scanned with PolyCam, wearing a total look from Magliano along with Maison Margiela tabi loafers. I added digital jewelry from Veert and eyewear from RetroSupeFuture to complete the look, immersing the character in a reality full of decay yet elevating him above the poisoned clouds.
