OVERVIEW Founded in 2014, RoomNet TV is a groundbreaking digital platform offering travellers control of the very best guest services and their own entertainment in their hotel room through their phone and TV. Through the interface, guests can securely access all their own content, concierge and room service, dry cleaning, travel and tourist information, weather and more – directly to the in-room TV without risk of their content being available to other hotel guests. BRIEF The company needed a brand overhaul in order to re-align themselves as the premium technology offering to the hospitality industry their product deserved. The existing identity had been created upon startup and the partners felt it had taken them as it could, but with an increasing client base and growing reputation as innovators within guest room entertainment, the company wanted to update their brand, visual identity, collateral and the essential presentation tools required to sell their product to big name international hospitality and reflect their status as an official Apple technology partner. RESPONSE One of the earliest decisions was to drop the word TV from the brand name. It was felt to be misleading given the enormous variety of other services available. Once this was done I created a clean and crisp marque more in keeping with the company’s aspirations to enhance its reputation as an industry pioneer. The Play arrow was retained in a more subtle fashion than the old logo and gave the new marque an instant ownability, and the Take Control brand line was developed as a sign off and call to action. A strong visual language was developed using bold shapes with clean lines and implemented across a range of B2B presentation tools including the website, digital advertising, corporate literature, stationery and exhibition materials.
