Selected Ramblings

  • Adi Wiedersheim
In ‘Selected Ramblings’, I re-appropriated and hacked a vintage typewriter, replacing the printed output of the keys with spoken words, bringing a voice out each time a key is pressed. By memorising the keys and the words they individually contain, the typewriter becomes an instrument that is used to construct and perform a live poem. With this piece, I strove to portray the mind as a machine and the repetitive and obsessive processes of thought and language.
