Shame, disgust and taboo in visual (and ideological) communication (dissertation project)

My dissertation publication explores the themes of shame, taboo and disgust through publishing. It's an exploration of images that trigger us and what we perceive as repulsive. We are expected to look and behave a certain way and, therefore, hold multiple subconscious biases regarding our own bodies. My work is meant to make us stop and think: 'why is my reaction so strong?'
