Squarespace x 2018 Secret 7"
This year, we were very proud to partner with Secret 7" on their annual exhibition in London.
Secret 7” takes 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and presses each one 100 times to 7” vinyl before inviting creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style for every vinyl. 700 unique sleeves are exhibited before going on sale on a first come, first served basis priced at £50 each. The creator of the sleeve is unknown – as well as which song it's for – until the sale is final. The secret lies within.
Since 2012, Secret 7" has produced 3,500 one-of-a-kind records for 35 different tracks. Every single piece of art has been sold, and over £175,000 has been raised for great causes.
As part of this year's exhibition, we also created “Speak Your Mind,” a website created in partnership with Secret 7" and Mind to help raise awareness for mental health. Visitors to the site could (and still can!) either create their own unique pieces of artwork – or, if they were in London, could drop by the exhibit to browse this year’s unique works of art and create their own via "Speak Your Mind" at an interactive station. For each piece of unique artwork shared on social, £1 went straight to Mind.
Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, providing advice and support to empower everyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind campaigns to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding.
