Studying Shadows

A personal project of mine, Studying Shadows uses a photographic reference to explore the depth of colours through digital illustration. Ultimately it displayed that depth in still images resides not only in light and darkness, but also in the juxtaposition of the subject with its surroundings, as well as the textures of the elements. Perhaps a simple idea to some, it suddenly became clear to me when I sensed the lack of it under my pencil.
