Suzy’s Big Colour Adventure

Suzy’s Big Colour Adventure is a board book about the colours of the rainbow for very young audiences, complete with lift the flap elements. Suzy the sausage dog is searching for her rainbow ball, but it’s not under the Red Trees, it’s not in the Yellow Flowers, it’s not among the Green Grass... Under each flap is a new little animal that suits the environment of the page, or a green caterpillar to search for on every spread. This project was created by making many textures by hand in a variety of materials from acrylic paint and pencil to cling film and nail varnish remover. These textures were then cut into shapes either digitally or traditionally to create the final pieces. The images below are a selection of spreads the show the pages first with the flaps covering the images, and then with the flaps up.
