To invent a new strategy that would attract more visitors to the Horniman museum, I created The Atkins Walk, which was awarded the 'M25 Consortium & The Horniman Award'. The walk is designed to guide the visitor around the museum, in turn, educating the audience about Anna Atkins, one of the first female botanists. Each destination on the map correlates with Atkins history in botany. Using the map, the visitor must travel around the gardens and museum to look for each icon on a plaque. The plaque contains information about Atkins, also showing the dedicated symbol assigned to each location. I wanted to use earthy colours to match the theme of botany and experiment with the use of typography to create an engaging poster.
