The Big Music Project, was a major new careers initiative funded by the Big Lottery Fund and partnered with the BPI, Global Charities and UK Youth.
The aim of the project was to introduce 14 – 24 year olds into the workings of the music industry at four innovative and inspiring flagship national events.
The events were held in Glasgow, London, Cardiff and Belfast and gave young people the opportunity to interact, share ideas and develop relationships within the British music industry with the view to a potential career.
I designed and managed an innovative and inspiring environment for the first ever Big Music Project. At four National events we gave youngsters the opportunity to interact, share ideas and develop relationships within the British music industry with the view to a potential career. This was achieved through interactive exhibition stands, seminars, workshops and live music performances, sourcing inspiring contributors, exhibitors and artists. Created and managed a limited budget within tight timescales, in a busy and demanding environment. Rapidly built and maintained effective relations with the various project partners, The Big Lottery Fund, UK Youth, Global Charities and the BPI, their teams, local government departments and the contractors based around the UK.
