The Body Project, Part One

The body project is an exploration of the nude body, more specifically the female nude within art history. These images were undertook as investigative research, and paved the way for my later project 'Venus With Penis'. I wanted to combine the areas of the classical nude with the erotic nude, to portray the historical in a contemporary way. I had hoped to create challenging images that explored taboo subjects such as bondage, in a nod to how the female nude was once seen when it was first conceived. All images are black & white large format film.
