The Fables of Aesop
An illustrated book featuring a selection of 14 of my favourite Aesop’s Fables. I explored narratives during my final year at university, for my Final Major Project I decided to illustrate my own book featuring a selection of my favourite Aesops fables. Using Ampersand Claybord, each illustration was carefully carved and inked over a period of 5 months during the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Each fable has an individual drop cap, border and illustration which links directly to the narrative.
I created my own repeat pattern featuring animals that appear in the fables, this was then used for the books endpages.
Each illustration was carefully inked and carved on Ampersand Claybord.
