My role: Illustrator and animator The Micro:bit Educational Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to use digital technology to inspire and educate children. They wanted to create several videos intended for school teachers, to explore the many uses of the pocket-sized computer called the micro:bit. This device can be programmed to carry out various tasks such as measuring temperature, light levels, motion, creating sounds, displaying animations, and much more. The micro:bit enables children to develop their cognitive and practical skills through collaboration and experimentation, as well as think about how these skills can be applied to the wider world. As the lead designer, I was responsible for creating the visuals to accompany the scripts, before animating them. It was important to maintain good communication with the client to ensure the images were accurate, clear and appealing to look at as they would be used to instruct teachers on the technical workings of the micro:bit.
