The Trepidation Alphabet

  • Crispian Rodger

This project was by far, one of the most fun projects I have had the pleasure of working on. I was challenged to design my own set of glyphs that would form an alphabet. I went to my local museum and chose 12 objects that I thought would be interesting subjects. I then simplified these objects into single or double lined symbols and in turn, made those into the glyphs you can see bellow. It was a creative exercise in type design and I really enjoyed it. I named my alphabet “Trepidation” because all of the objects that the glyphs were based on were all really creepy to look at. And that is what made them so interesting.
