The welfare state

We currently have a society in which has a extremly right wing government that has systematically attacked our welfare state, this is achieved by huge amounts of cuts, through our media in which is consistantly over the years portray benifits, such a negative assosication. any time it is mentioned in the media it is usually to portray benifit scroungers through depictions of those a very tiny minority in which are then used to justify the huge cuts despite over 99% of those on benifits are genuine.
Through the use of the media attacking the benifit state it has caused the general public to soak up the misconceptions of what the benifit system actually does but instead think it is a burden on society, how it is full of indivudlas seeking to take advantage.
The reality is that it is the most valuable asset in which we hold as a country that allow us to live in a civilised society that cares about more then just ourselfs. after the world war when the country was in far more debt then we currently are, we a compassionate people brought the NHS into existance where we no longer wanted individualsto have to suffer due to their social cisumstances, no longer did we want access to good education or a roof over our head to be a privlidge.
The welfare state is based on the principles of equality of opportunity, equitable distribution of wealth, and public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal provisions for a good life. The five services within the welfare state are Education, Social housing, Employment, national insurance and the national health care service (NHS).
Within this illustration im displaying the welfare state as the human body.
Education as the brain
Arms as emplyment
NHS as the heart
Social Housing as the body
National Insurances (taxes that are dispursed through the body) as your arteries .

They all exist in order for the body to survive. To attack any of these assets would therefore be self destructive
