Tip the Scales Toward Equal Pay

For every dollar a man earns in the U.S., a woman earns an average of 80 cents. According to the World Economic Forum, it will take more than 200 years to close this wage gap.
On Equal Pay Day 2018 – April 10, to be exact – we raised awareness around the issue of the wage gap. We believe everyone deserves an equal shot at success, regardless of gender identity.
Women of all backgrounds use Squarespace as a platform to share their stories, and this community of woman-identifying dreamers, makers, and doers has become an integral part of our own success story.
To bring attention to this issue, we offered a symbolic 20% off a new website on Equal Pay Day – a percentage that represents the average wage discrepancy between women and men.
And to help raise awareness about wage inequality and how it impacts us all, we partnered with an inspiring group of customers including Gloria Steinem, Aja Dang, Deun IvoryLiz Plank, and others to share their experiences.
Hear more on the initiative from Squarespace's CMO, Kinjil Mathur, in her recent interview with Forbes – published on Equal Pay Day.
