WE CAN BE HEROES

A PLACE TO MAKE AN ELECTRIC ORIGAMI TRIBUTE We Can Be Heroes was a week long growing installation for the Brixton Design Trail/London Design Festival inspired by the outpouring of heartfelt written and floral tributes seen at the David Bowie mural in Brixton following his death in January 2016. In this nine day long installation people were invited take a piece of paper and write a private message to anyone in their life who they consider to be a hero, fold it up into an origami flower or Crane and attach it to a lighting bolt frame running through the centre of Pop Brixton. Each piece of origami added was a tribute to someone they considered to be a hero and contributed to the growing paper garden of over 1000 pieces over the nine days. Featured as a highlight of the Brixton Design Trail.
