"Why my rape was anti-climactic"

  • Laura Hunter-Thomas
What happens when you’re raped and afterwards you don’t think, feel or react the way people seem to expect you to? When people present themselves as the authority on your own experience and how you’re supposed to process it? When people become suspicious of you because you apparently don’t fit the mould of a ‘typical’ survivor? I wrote about my personal reckoning with these questions in the October 2018 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.
