About me
Fábio Testa here. Now, my name might sound funny, but as a designer, I am anything but. I’m a serious, multidisciplinary and creative senior graphic designer with a focus on branding, visual and corporate identity. I’ve studied at Miami Ad School/ESPM, the best-ranked communication college in Brazil and I’ve worked for companies like Publicis San Francisco, People Ideas and Culture New York and, currently, Interbrand São Paulo, specifically for LATAM Airlines, creating utterly unique visuals. But, don’t take my word for it. I want to show you my portfolio and how I can fit your style and your ethos. Please visit my projects on www.testa.in to see a preview and to understand my way of positioning myself in space.
Projects
  • IB Talks
IB TalksIB Talks is an Interbrand meeting with entrepreneurs from various important Brazilian industries such as finance, engineering, construction, petrochemicals and consumer goods. In order to promote it internally, engage and invite people to participate, we’ve created the visual identity, considering how exclusive it would be and thinking of a variety of different touch points, from the invitation mail to the name tents. The infinity of opinions and beliefs gain a voice and unity when the letters create an image of a microphone, providing the chance to talk and share knowledge. This visual solution creates a proprietary pattern with easy recognition and understanding. After being implemented at Interbrand São Paulo, Interbrand Argentina started using it for their own meetings.
  • LYNN
LYNNChris Lynn, a very talented Brazilian designer, asked me to create a special outro for her demo reel, using her visual identity. As a result of 3 days of work, we’ve finished the animated motion design for her visual identity. Music: Feist – Mushaboom (VV Mix)
  • Odebrecht Colours
Odebrecht ColoursOdebrecht Organisation is a Brazilian conglomerate consisting of diversified businesses in the fields of engineering, construction, chemicals and petrochemicals. Present in 21 countries, it is responsible for developing notable projects like the American Airlines Arena, the Miami Airport and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Today, it is often said that there is an inevitable movement of creating special engagement materials that truly attract employees, creating a much more reliable and committed environment for the brand ambassadors and suppliers. Therefore, Interbrand came up with an idea to engage and educate their employees by creating a special kit including an exclusive “Pantone”, with materials that would go beyond paper, like fabric, vinyl, plastic, acrylic, etc. Odebrecht understood how important was to create a special book with his own colours and asked us to kick off the project. This color book was gifted in 6 different countries during special workshops for Graphic Designers in order to teach how to follow and interpret the brand territory. Additionally, a practical guide was developed presenting the most important information. More than the technical challenge, we’ve developed an important tool to create commitment and reliability. Therefore, despite the money saved and the fact that this is truly eco-friendly, the company understood that, along other materials, this was much more effective than the previous workshops. Additionally, now the brand is far more consistent, including, obviously, their colours.
  • Coutomons
CoutomonsAna Couto is one of the biggest and most important Brazilian branding agencies in São Paulo. They use a very unusual type of character, called Coutomon, which is way more than a doll, a mascot or an avatar. It translates Ana Couto's speech: Brands are like people and they have their own ways to be, do and talk. The Coutomon’s gallery is an opened space that engages a relationship platform, with collaborative creativity to build inspirational results. Annually, they ask a bunch of designers to collaborate with their own Coutomon, playing with visual possibilities always avoiding barriers. Some of my contributions were selected for their printed material and the idea is to keep producing new possibilities. Visit the website: www.anacouto.com.br
  • Bowers & Wilkins
Bowers & WilkinsWhat: The assignment was to choose an electronic industry brand with no stores and create a storefront. B & W could be an interesting choice as they are the state-of-the-art music equipment company Challenge: Sensibility to understand the brand and translate it into a store front without losing its personality, thinking of their customers, strategy, concept, materials and production, joining all the skills of branding, environment design, 3D and post-production Solution: Visual effects with ordinary materials were suggested in order to translate the recognition that B & W has worldwide
  • La Madalena
La MadalenaWhat: Create an identity for a city, street or village near the school. I decided to work with Vila Madalena, a west neighbourhood in São Paulo known for its nightclubs, bars, different cuisine and other creative industries Challenge: Translate the neighbourhood essence, thinking of its rich melting pot and being as inclusive as possible Solution: Icons with double meaning were used to symbolise their contrasting personality, as they represent a distinction between the day and the night, the artistic and the ordinary, bringing enjoyment through the experimentation of local stereotypes and cultural differences
