Can anyone recommend how to find good mentors in the creative industries?

- I think just reaching out and getting in touch with people who are already doing things that you'd love to do in your respective industries, you won't know unless you ask!
- Ladies, Wine & Design London (and probably wherever you are) has a mentor programme. Check out their website.Maybe your Uni has a programme as well? LCC certainly has.Good luck!
- Hi Erea,- contact someone you admire directly and ask them if they would offer mentoring.- SheSays has an incredible programme called 'Who's your Momma'.- Kerning the Gap has a full year mentorship programm. Super useful and fantastic people involved.- Ladies, Wine & Design run brilliant portfolio sessions and talks where you might be able to learn about someone to introduce yourself to.- Ask someone you work with if they could recommend someone to you.Hope you find a great mentor soon.
- Have you approached your hero’s and heroines?
- What type of mentor are you looking for?

- Hey Erea, I'd have to agree with @Vikki Ross - its a creative industry, and chances are 20% of people in it, are making 80% of the work you really love, so, follow the work.Every time you see something you love, find out who made it, and email them telling them why you love it, what you've taken from it, and how you are going to try and apply that in your own work.Over time you'll begin to spot patterns. Both in who you find yourself constantly emailing, and also in who always replies. Where the two crossover is probably the right person willing to mentor you.Mentoring can feel like this weird, icky thing. Like asking someone if they will go out with you, or if you're "official". But at the heart, it is just conversations that contain guidance, the passing on of wisdom, and constructive criticismHope this helps,
- Hi Erea,This list might help:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mOHAbda7xVxZLCWJTKhl6G8aiiD4KluCjrdGt9oAhU0/editOtherwise try contacting people you admire - worst that will happen is they'll say no.Best wishes,Vikki

- Hey Erea I'll suggest you follow Chris Do from the Futur for starters and check out his YouTube channel. You'll be introduced to other brilliant mentors along the way.
