2016 Taipei ZhongXiao Store Opening event

Aesop ZXE is located at one of the most flourish lanes in east section of Taipei city. East section is the newly developed area for the last 20 years, including the city hall, multiple department stores, Xin-Yi district and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The Aesop ZXE was Inspired by western and eastern elements, like the traditional Chinese calligraphy. The Baroque style Japanese architecture, and one saying by famous photographer Chao-Tang Chang’s poem, “everybody is looking for a direction... searching, being lost as well as gathering while walking along the way For a long time.”

Jam Wu, the paper cutting artist was born in Tainan, Taiwan. With his architects background, he has strong interior concept to create the artwork. He has been cooperated with many brands and projects, such as Louis Vuitton, Cloudgate Dance project, Taiwan National Art Museum, The Cité Internationale des Arts-Paris and ART14 London. Having focus on his artwork, it is noted that he is not only using paper as material but also leather, wooden. Through the artworks, it can be seen the flexibility that he’s been created for different theme of exhibition/space.
