Against Functionalism

This project explores the planning, production and overall development of book design. It gave me the opportunity to develop and refine my approach and understanding of visual narrative, focusing on the designed content, while also having to consider the form and format of the book. This intern taught me to focus on both the physical structure of the book as well as to its aesthetic qualities. I was able to re-imagine the traditional form of the book, doing so by exploring the typographic hierarchy associated with editorial design.
