Anatomy of a Movie Poster Editorial Design

The Brief
To design a book about a subject I am very passionate about – Movie Posters. I wrote the book myself during my dissertation and have expanded upon it since.

The Solution
Using typical movie poster trends and highlighting their similarities, I was able to illustrate how modern film posters had become lazy and conformist, whilst also exploring what made movie posters great to begin with, how we may be emerging from a creative drought after the decade of the ‘floating head’ and where movie marketing could develop in the future, each of these areas in the book is paired with a poster that nods at the chapter title.
