Ashinaga Brand Guidelines

  • Sarah Garmston

Interning and subsequently working at Ashinaga was a unique and fantastic opportunity, as there had never been any brand guidelines established. I took this rare opportunity to begin creating a consistent and coherent identity for the Ashinaga Africa Initiative and brand guidelines in English. Coming straight as a design graduate to overseeing and creating a large company’s branding was an opportunity for me to learn and become an independent designer. Over a 12 month period, we wrote, created a strategy, and designed the set of brand guidelines. Inside it details the ins and outs of logo usage, how to have the right tone of voice according to the language, and very detailed information on the visual identity of Ashinaga outside of Japan. In 2019 I will be continuing to build upon the work I have already done on brand strategy for Ashinaga, and will be assisting on establishing brand guidelines in Japanese and an updated version in English.
