In my role I was responsible for commercial and creative development and delivery of national and international shows, events and experiences from within the BBC Earth portfolio with a focus on events based on the Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, Walking with Dinosaurs, and Deadly 60 brands from the BBC Natural History Unit.
Experiences comprised of concerts, exhibitions, arena shows, visitor attractions and licensed content supplied to third party visitor destinations such as theme parks. I managed a small team and led on live commercial projects, which were a mix licensing deals, joint ventures or wholly owned by BBCW.
I worked with local markets to prepare the global event strategy for BBC Earth to agree the roll out of events; providing central management, guidance, motivation and overall accountability for execution;
My role included developing and managing client relationships as well as those with event partners – licensees/JV partners/sponsors/suppliers, including marketing strategy and delivery. Large scale stakeholder management within BBC Worldwide and BBC Public Service was also a key responsibility.
