The body is a beautiful piece of artwork that should be celebrated and loved. This collection of works is centered around body positivity. I hope that by viewing my work it empowers people to love themselves. Everything is in black and white to give the images a soft delicate feel. I’ve added small amounts of glitter to the 3 self portraits to highlight the shape and curves of the body making the images shimmer when viewing. There is no facial features shown in these photos to prevent any personal connection encouraging the view to view the body as it is and without judgement. The three small sculptures have been created out of clay, they reflect literally and more abstractly representation of the female form, focusing in on the curves & rolls & textures of the body. This once again reinforces the idea that the body is art. The close up photos focus in on details of the body, how different it can look when moved and sat in different positions, the folds of the fabric reflecting the rolls of the body.
