Central Working Manchester

Paying respect to the significance of Manchester’s buildings and its architecture, this concept is inspired by prominent architectural features. The facades of the different buildings with their many windows and arches are the driving elements for this concept. Envisioning a draughtsman and architect as the main characters of our story, the application of our concept is an attempt to celebrate their mastery. Their work and personality is present through a collection of accessories and artworks as well as custom made installations. This concept is enveloped with a strong narrative and invites people to discover it. The draughtsman and architect as another entrepreneur share the same passions as the members of Central Working. Carefully chosen materials, specific to Manchester Central Working Club, have been curated through a selection of custom made installations. Additionally many artworks, some custom made too, have been selected for the private offices and the different social spaces and run along the same architectural theme. The draughtsman’s fictional character has been envisioned in a set of portraits depicted as a mysterious and anonymous character, nevertheless celebrated, by dipping the portraits in a coat of a mellow yellow paint, to complement the overall chosen colour scheme of the Club. Also, Manchester’s history of arts and crafts have been another reference point for some of the chosen interior styling features. Textile installations and decorative accessories are acting as reminders of this part of Manchester’s cultural inheritance. A library, a new feature in Central Working Clubs, is been taken as an interior styling opportunity to select items and publications that celebrate the fictional character and build further on the design narrative of Manchester Club.
