Limited editition pin badges for the London 2012 Olympics

The Challenge

As official sponsors of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Coca-Cola asked Bozboz designers to create a range of collectable pin badges. Millions of pins are collected and traded at every Olympic Games, with rare designs becoming highly sought after, as such, the designs needed to stand the test of time to take their place in Olympic history.

More than just a design project

The Bozboz-designed pins were worn by politicians, athletes and celebrities and copies of them are housed in the Coca Cola Pin Museum in Atlanta, alongside pins from the past 100 years of Olympic games.

The Approach

We worked on a series of designs for handmade, hand-enamelled pins, celebrating London life through the themes of music and sport.
Taking on this project meant delving deep into the world of pin trading, researching designs at trading events and ensuring the final pins were ones that would excite enthusiasts the world over. Tapping into the knowledge of the target audience provided a solid foundation for producing well-loved designs.

The Results

The official Coca-Cola Olympics Pins are considered to be valuable collector's items, and pin enthusiasts travelled from all around the world to view or buy them at the pin trading centre at the Olympic Park.
We are also proud to be one of the only agencies in existence that has run the Olympic Torch.
