Conversations
Design two posters for an event - 'conversations' which will be held in London and New York.
Starting point
We were initially asked to do typographic posters without using any software. The content was given to us printed in different type sizes and in black and white colors. We could manipulate the content by photocopying, cutting or any other method and arrange our designs on A0 papers.
My concept
The first thing I wanted the audience to focus on the famous personalities who were going to talk about the global issues. Their names would attract the audience to visit the event. Keeping this in mind, I designed the following layout on paper. 'Conversation' is in the smallest font size because I wanted to convey that conversations happen between people and the event was all about people coming together and talking about the global issues. I did not want to have a ‘loud’ effect on the event. To emphasize more on the event, I created the letter 'C' using negative space.
Black and White
To experiment more and make my concept digital, I designed black and white posters using the software and modified the type. I twerked font size and weights and balanced 'conversations' with the composition.
Color
Next, to experiment with colors, I picked out color swatches from the venue of the event itself.
Process
I printed these posters using screen printing process.
