Creative Conscience Competition

The project was my application to the Creative Conscience: Social Impact Design Award. Stemming from an interest in smart textiles and innovative technology incorporated into garments, I have developed a solution to help people that struggle with social anxiety and isolation through the use of a collapsible shape memory ally (SMA) hood. The concept is inspired by my research into architecture, collapsible origami and shape adapting structures. The final design consolidates by research and understanding of foldable structures to devise a multifunctional product protecting the wearer emotionally and physically, providing protection and visibility outside.
