In April of 2016, I organised, and curated a pop up gallery. I decided to take Skull & Heart from London to Brighton and set up a pop up Gallery across a two floor space in the city centre.
The Gallery featured over 70 pieces of artwork from over 50 artists, and included both Skull & Heart screen print series, select pieces from the Hear Me Roar all female exhibition, and the S&H group show for Spring with 24 new, original and one off pieces.
Unlike a pop up exhibition, which is usually featured around one body of artwork, or an artist, I decided to take on the task of recreating a full gallery experience, providing a new space so that the audience were able to view and be a part of all the past collections and projects that have been organised for Skull & Heart.
The project ran for 2 weeks, and included an opening party with live drawing from two of the exhibiting artists: Dan Mumford and Liane Plant.
