Art direction for a bespoke iTunes visualiser, commissioned by Relentless Energy Drink.
The REV is a bespoke iTunes visualiser, commissioned by Relentless Energy Drink. It is a live content creation tool which takes a live music feed from a playlist or audio source and generates real time visuals of ‘relentless energy’ in ground breaking 3D. I collaborated with Robert Hodgin and Andrew Bell from The Barbarian Group in New York, who had previously created the Magnetosphere iTunes visualiser. The live version of The REV enhances live performances of bands that participate in Relentless music activity. The application is triggered by audio outputs from the front of house mixing desk and reacts in real-time, running at 30+ fps on the most muscular of graphics cards. This has been used extensively at the Relentless Garage music venue in London and various festivals. In addition to the live application we also created an i-Tunes plugin version. This is available as a free download to members of the Relentless online community, to use with their own playlists on Macs and PC’s with more modest hardware.
