GEORGE R. BAR

  • Mireille Natley
Branding for George R bar in Berlin : Inspired by the German art school Bauhaus, I created an abstract and minimal portrait of a man's silhouette for George R, a new bar in Berlin. The brief from the client was strong imagery that would convey 1920's prohibition bar, without the need for text.
Design Solution and Executions
Since the bar name was “George R”, it was obvious and memorable to use the portrait image. Abstract imagery was designed to match the poetic atmosphere of the hidden bar. With the originally designed typeface, both typeface and the mark have pointy corner to keep the 1920’s feel. Logo was applied on the bar card and other places such as receipt and front sign.
