We needed to develop a pre and in-season promotional campaign for the Game of Thrones season 6 to reinforce Game of Thrones’ position as an epic, must-see television event by increasing the buzz and hype around the premiere, and reach and activate fans during the whole season.
GoT is the most unpredictable series in television history. And from this season the only source of the sequel is HBO since book has not been published yet. We built our concept around all the unpredictable goings-on GoT provides and created a great and challenging game for all GoT fans in 7 CEE countries called BATTLE OF ODDS. An exciting and unique platform where they became a part of a great community and competed with each other for the title of the Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms and of course for cool GoT prizes.
All they needed to do for it was to follow each episode of the new season, guess the upcoming story correctly before each episode, and decide how much virtual gold they are willing to risk. The users had 2 options for collecting extra gold:
◊Watch the 1st episode on HBO GO for free, which drove traffic to the HBO GO site
◊Provide their phone number for a 1 month HBO GO subscription, which generated leads for HBO.
