Lingering on the Threshold

A collaborative film-based exhibition including the works of Francis Alÿs, Gregor Schenider, Igor Bošnjak, Ben Rivers, Sanja Anđelković, Rachel Pimm and Graham Cunnington. A combination of the Artangel and the October Salon collections, in this exhibition MA Curating and Collections explored the use of liminality by these artists to explore alternative solutions to engage with cultural, economic, and environmental concerns. As our world is saturated with constant exposure to outside stimuli, we find meditative peace and space to digest and contemplate current events in liminality. The term “liminal” comes from the Latin word “limen,” meaning threshold. Hence, the name of the exhibition. Through this exhibition, the artists take in-between spaces and turn them into physical form. And within these spaces, we our minds are liberated, allowing us to explore the depths of our existence.
