Map illustration for Hachette UK

Map illustration painted for Hachette UK (Hodder & Stoughton) and Gino D'Acampo. The illustrated map was included in the book Gino's Italian Express (Hodder & Stoughton, 2019). The publication accompanied the TV show broadcasted by ITV. Within the show (and the book) the chef travelled across North Italy by train, visiting key locations, hunting for ingredients. The map's main purpose was to illustrate these locations as well as the key train routes taken by the celebrity. I received a list of the specific train routes and locations of interest (and/or ingredients and their locations). After the draft stage I adjusted a lot of the different sizes, though the colours were perfectly accurate since the beginning (I just took the yellow and red from the book design and worked with those). A great project with lots of creative freedom.
