Mind Reading

This project is a theory-oriented design practice based on Vilém Flusser’s article The Gesture of Writing (2009), which explores the meaning of writing. The outcome is inspired by a poetic fictional ability called “mind reading”. Mind reading is said to be used to read the thoughts of the mind directly. This film shows what it is like to use mind reading to read silent spoken language that needs to be written down but skips the writing process. The film does not use any post-processing effects, all scenes are from filming.
