My response to The Case for Her & Teen Vogue brief about challenging ideas around female pleasure and sexual wellness, as a part of D&AD New Blood 2020. A university course project.

So I chose to work on The Case for Her & Teen Vogue brief about challenging ideas around female pleasure and sexual wellness, because when I read ‘the subject of female sexual pleasure and wellness has been deprioritised in sex education’ I couldn’t help to echo more with that voice.
It is yet incomplete, therefore presented here as a few still image styleframes. When finished, it should be four short videos (under 5 seconds each) of motion graphics animation, each about a sex toy transforming into a plant at a specific life stage (seed, vine, flower or fruit), symbolising the awakened female sexuality.
The storyboard below shows the narrative of one of these potential videos:
They may be used as the idents for a potential series - videos of women casually chatting about sexual product, interaction and experience in a positive, relaxing and open manner. The still images as well, can be the illustrative elements for articles of the same nature. I believe that talking about such topics should be considered less and less ‘improper’ and ‘awkward’ in the future decades and eventually become completely ‘normalised’ amongst a future generation of adult and young people - so that sexual wellbeing can be informed better - as if a small talk about good food and the everyday life.
