The latest collection from Tigmi Trading included a range of contemporary and vintage one-of-a-kind rugs, and the purpose was the highlight the obscurities of these pieces by showcasing them in obscure settings. Keeping each shot paired back, with minimal styling; the intention was to focus on light and shadow, reflection and movement. This campaign was to be used to launch Tigmi Trading’s new website, redefining the brand within the consumer and trade market.

Embracing the natural environment, and drawing inspiration from textures & tones found within natural elements of rock face and sand; the concept was to showcase interior textile pieces in an exterior setting. The intention was to highlight the imperfections of each rug, working with the tonal qualities in each piece and complimenting that with a similar motif found in the landscape.

Inspired by the ever-changing interaction of light, movement and form during the transition from Summer into Autumn. Keeping things minimal with the natureof light as the director, working with clean architectural shadow lines that formed as the sun made its way around the building. Allowing the designs to speak for themselves, meant working with a blank canvas was key. We often fill our homes with so much ‘stuff’ that in turn, designs become compromised. Tigmi Trading rugs are one-of-a-kind pieces that have been hand crafted from locally sourced materials using regional traditions and each rug has such a strong sense of identity that needed to be portrayed, and did so successfully through the simplicity of this shoot.
