While at The City Talking I created a few teasers for a potential project. Unfortunately it never got off the ground but the work was fun and challenging.
This After Effects animation references Tron's light cycle, degraded with a cathode ray glow. I wrote the music too, drawing upon Carpenter's 80s era, using some warbly VHS style effects to give the synths that nostalgic sound.
These two animations take familiar Street Fighter II characters and sets their fights against a Leeds backdrop.
It was a particularly tricky job as the animation had to be created frame by frame to perfectly replicate the game's motion, using sprite sheets and lots of patience (tools such as After Effects Rotobrush couldn't seperate the characters from the original background in a convinicing way).
The backgrounds were originally photos taken by Shang-ting Peng, which I pixelated and paralaxed for that authentic World Warrior look.
