The Altitude Centre - Website Design and Build in WordPress

  • Ruby Lee

We worked with The UK’s number one altitude training specialist, The Altitude Centre, to take their website to new heights. The Altitude Centre prepares athletes and the general public alike to maximise personal performance by increasing endurance, speed and improving exercise recovery by simulating high-altitude environments. Customers learn to extract more from each breath, making them more fuel efficient with a lower resting heart rate and enhanced oxygen uptake.

Studio 77 was asked to design a new website to freshen up their aesthetics, which we built in Wordpress with Mind-Body and Zoho CRM integrations. The intention of The Altitude Centre’s business is to transport people to mountain tops from their London location, so it was important for us to reflect this, using topographical lines to represent mountainous terrains, and an icy colour palette.

The challenge we faced was integrating the many services they offered online (from bookings and rentals, to personal training and corporate supplies), into an easily navigable journey for each type of user.
With thoughtful design, we differentiated each user by segmenting their offering into clear sections: rentals, bookings and shop. Each segment got their own coloured mountain range for clarity. We were also sure to showcase the stories of the impressively active team at The Altitude Centre (such as running an arctic marathon in nothing but underwear) to give credibility, as well as a personal touch, to the service. Talk about aiming high!

And the end product? A unique and exciting design, making sense of a business with many services into an easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly website. If you excuse the pun, we think it’s pretty cool.
