Panel Discussions: Collaboration, Commercialisation & Negotiation.

New Designers is a huge design event in the UK, pushing on the thriving life cycle of design. The New Designers exhibition brings together design education, design consumers and the design industry to celebrate and recognise the next generation of graduate designers. This year, The Dots brought a double set of panel discussions to the series, surrounding Collaboration, Commercialisation & Negotiation.

Panel 1: This panel gave insights and practical advice on developing commercial relationships and the importance of establishing a consistent brand/identity. The discussion aimed to reveal the best practices in negotiation, tips on fruitful collaborations and how to have fun along the way! Panellists include Nicki Field, Head of Illustration at jelly, Ruth Wassermann, Head of Design, Made.com, Lee Schuneman, Studio Head at Microsoft Lift London and more- have a listen below!
Panel 2: This conversation hit on the same subjects but with industry icons Carol Lingwood, Head of Costume at the National Theatre, Nick Eley, Head of Design Menswear at ASOS, Harriet Vine, Co-Founder of Tatty Devine, Alice Mayor, Founder of We Built This City, and One Year on curator and founder of Luna & Curious Rheanna Lingham.
