the Ikat Font

Inspired by my love for the exotic flair of a 'diamond IKAT'. To me, one of the many forms of human expression is that of textiles. The IKAT, an age old method of decorating or patterning a textile, is imbued with such a kind of magical quality. A tie-dyeing method is used to give these textiles their unique vibrancy of colour and design, Ikat has now come to refer to the textiles themselves as well as the process. This is the first in a series of fonts I intend to create drawn from the rich textile heritage of India.
