BEWARE OF THE CHILDREN

We were asked to create a 360 marketing campaign for the launch of The Midwich Cuckoos, a Sky TV adaptation of John Wyndham's classic novel, starring Keeley Hawes and written by David Farr.

The core thought behind our ideas was the notion that children, far from being innocent, could be a malevolent and terrifying force.
Our key art was brought to life through lenticular T-sides across buses nationwide. In a first for Sky, the format was changed so that the talent remained static while the Cuckoos appeared menacingly either side. The effect proved suitably creepy.
But our favourite activation had to be the stunt at Westfield White City.

Enhancing our 48 sheet billboard with a 3D street scene, we had the Cuckoos 'escape' the poster to wreak havoc on the town. Life size mannequins were dotted around the space in an unsettling (and very un-childlike) game of hide and seek, while a crashed milkfloat and damaged Midwich town scene turned heads and drew shoppers in to investigate.

Who doesn't love a special build?
The client was so into the work that Sky Mobile even let us mess with their ads. We hijacked some digital screens around Westfield White City and had the Cuckoos glitch into Sky Mobile ads and take them over in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment.
