The Parallel Self

  • Rohit Sharma
Humans have always been at the crossroads of ‘altered states’ and its coexistence with the ‘actual reality’.
A proposed hypotheses about the very nature of the universe, where scientists argue about the existence of the surroundings around us as mere projections. As compared to the classical hypothesis from the big bang to quantum states of matter.
This arises a fundamental question of the validation of ‘seeing is believing’, which is tackled through the project. The project is inspired from the genre of Science Fiction and Speculation where it explores the boundaries and framework of our imagination with respect to the hypothesis proposed, ‘Mankind living in a projection’.
These projections are altered with external forces making it shift between states, which in affect changes the course of action, actions which are predefined.
The project also proposes a factual exploration of ‘us’ being one of the projections out of the many and how we interact with them. It investigates into a much more challenging notion of how we interact with time and space and how a small change brings about a profound change in the course of action. Its about a jump into the different universe which can be from any of the infinite multiverse which exists, where our very own parallel self materialises with completely different or maybe same set of experiences that we have had.
