A panel of four expert judges from the music industry presides over the initial auditions and whittles down the best of the best into four distinct categories, one assigned to each of the four judges.
During the later live rounds the audience gets to vote for the act that should be eliminated each week. So it’s not just the performers who are competing; the judges get in on the act as well, pitting their skills against each other as they search for the one act that has The X Factor.
